Arnold is an Associate at KATS. He received his LLB with Honours from Uganda Christian University in 2016. He completed his Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice in 2017 and a Post Graduate Diploma in Tax and Revenue Administration from East African School of Taxation in 2018.
Arnold has over 8 years’ experience in Corporate & Commercial transactions, Tax & Compliance, Civil Litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolution. He provides general corporate advisory to the Firms corporate clients and conducts legal due diligences for companies that choose mergers and acquisitions as their strategic pathway, while advising on regulatory compliance. He is routinely involved in the incorporation of companies and corporate insolvency.
He also advises and represents clients on a wide array of civil and commercial matters. He routinely provides Tax and compliance advice including assisting clients to resolve Tax disputes with Uganda Revenue Authority and representation at the Tax Appeals Tribunal and Ugandan Courts.

- Advised Spotify, an audio streaming and media service provider, on the legal requirements to launch its services in Uganda.
- Advised Airtel (U) Limited on the listing of 20% of its shares on the main segment of the Uganda Securities Exchange.
- Advised EACOP on the various permits and licenses required for the construction of the oil pipeline in Uganda.
- Advised Agri Vie Fund II (Pty) Ltd on its proposed minority investment on Glacier Products Group Subsidiary in Uganda.
- Advised Soft Power Ltd, a private company incorporated in England, on the licensing requirements for its proposed money payment / remittance transfer structure in Uganda.
- Advised Wananchi Group Holdings Ltd, a Telecommunications company that offers a combination of cable television and internet on its potential sale of shares.
- Advised Air Kenya Express Limited on the tax implications of the transfer of its aircrafts to Aerolink Uganda Limited.
- Represented Luwaluwa Investments Limited, a company dealing in real estate, in a tax dispute with URA concerning whether the purchaser of mortgaged property following a public auction is liable to pay withholding tax.
- Acted for American Tower Telecommunications (ATC), a telecommunications infrastructure company in Uganda with respect to a dispute with KCCA regarding whether telecommunications masts are subject to payment of property tax under the Local Government (Rating) Act 2005.
- Acted for ICEA Insurance Company Limited, a licensed insurance company in Uganda, in respect of a tax dispute with URA relating to the tax treatment of travel insurance policies in Uganda.
- Acted for Cylex Engineering (PVT) Limited, a branch of a limited liability Company duly incorporated and domiciled in Sri Lanka that carries out construction of electricity power networks as a contractor for the government of Uganda, in respect of a tax dispute relating to assessments involving Income tax, VAT, withholding tax, P.A.Y.E to the tune of UGX 4 Billion.
- Advised Britam Insurance Company(U) Limited on the tax implications of its amalgamation with Britam Properties (U) Limited.
- Represented Professor Edward Kakonge in a suit against Uganda People’s Congress (UPC) challenging the legality of the election of the alleged UPC President Jimmy Akena.
- Acted for the area Member of Parliament for Gogonyo Constituency, Hon. Orone Derrick in his election dispute against Bantalib Isa Taligoba.
- Acted for Milton Obote Foundation in a suit filed against them by Uganda People’s Congress (UPC) regarding the ownership of Uganda House valued at over UGX 3 Billion.
